All ATCEUC representatives are operational controllers. They
do not get paid; they do not get any personal advantages for
their work. They work for ATCEUC during their free time and
when the meetings are over, they get back to air traffic control.
It ensures a maximum level of coherence and understanding of
professional issues. It also warrants a perfect transparency in
whatever issue is at stake.

 |
Our Goals |
|
ATCEUC was founded as it became obvious that whatever the
needs, the solution would have to take into account the fact that
ATM is a completely integrated system. That integration meant
and still means that future necessary evolutions would have to
be designed at European, or even global level. In order to meet
those international challenges, throughout Europe, ATC unions
decided to pool the resources of their respective memberships.
The position of the Air Traffic Controllers in the ATM system
gives them a very clear and precise overview of what needs to
change and evolve. ATCEUC was created to promote the views
of its members at the European level, to take full advantage of
ATCOs' expertise with regard to both technical and social
issues and today grants them access to all the information
available at European level and to all the European institutions.

 |
Our Work |
|
ATCEUC aims to participate in every work group where its
expertise might be called for: EAG ACG, SRC, SSC, ICB,
SESAR and other workshops or programmes within the
framework of Eurocontrol and the European Commission. We
are recognised as a full member of the ICB and our request to
be recognised as a Social Partner at European level is being
discussed. ATCEUC has always relied on cooperation with
other European bodies. We work closely with IFATCA, and we
shall endeavour to increase and improve this cooperation in
order to use our respective strengths as advantageously as
possible. ATCEUC will use all the means at its disposal to
express its concerns and to voice its opinions. It has published
brochures and press communiqués on a range of specific
topics.
|
| |
 |
We aim to |
| |
put forward the views of European Air Traffic Controllers in an
honest and non political manner whenever our expertise might
be useful; make sure that ATCOs are involved in the definition
of the European ATM system and kept informed on upcoming
developments so as to meet the challenges that the evergrowing
traffic demand is imposing.
ATCEUC is an organisation composed of member unions with
strong technical expertise. All our members are operational
control staff and we believe in a pragmatic approach, relying on
pro-active propositions rather than defensive reactions.

 |
Our organisation |
| |
ATCEUC is an organisation directed by an executive board,
elected on a two-year basis. Each delegate speaks on behalf of
our members and has a specific mandate to do so; they are
elected on a two-year basis, and their actions are reviewed
twice a year by a plenary meeting. During these meetings, the
policies of ATCEUC are decided, and actions and targets are
set.
The board of ATCEUC meets 4 times a year to decide on how
to implement the policies of ATCEUC. In doing so, ATCEUC is
able to react adequately to changing circumstances and latest
developments.
This regular surveillance and discipline ensures that the
decisions taken by the board are fully supported by all our
members.
